Much like multiplexing combines multiple
signals into one in a digital system, the human brain receives input
from the five senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch—and integrates
them seamlessly into a unified perception of the world. Each sense delivers
its own stream of sensory data, akin to the multiplexed channels of
information in a digital system. |
For example, when we experience a
sunset, our eyes detect the colors and shapes of the sky, while our
ears might pick up the sound of birds chirping or waves crashing. Additionally,
we might feel the warmth of the sun on our skin, smell the scent of
flowers nearby, and perhaps even taste the saltiness of the air. All
these sensory inputs are processed concurrently by the brain, similar
to how multiplexing handles multiple signals simultaneously.
