After walking for what seems like ages, through a small patch of shady oak trees, you come across a complex of office buildings.
A breeze brushes over your skin and blows through the leaves of the trees all around you. Four identical buildings are surrounded by acres of parking lots.
The asphalt is cracked all over and green grass is erupting from the crevaces. There is not a car in sight.
Cement walkways connect the parking lot to an entrance plaza in the center where the buildings meet.
The walkways are dotted with lamp posts, their black paint chipping away revealing a rusted interior.
Overgrown bushes line the walkways, they dance in the breeze.
One of the buildings is topped by a satellite dish. As you look up at it, you notice that there are people inside of this building.
Their silouettes against the yellow flourescent lights move rapidly from one side to another. You're able to see some computer screens glowing in other offices but it looks like they haven't been touched in years.
Afraid of disturbing the workers, you continue through the lot, mindful of any security cameras that may be watching.
Though the sun is shining, one of the lamp posts is on. The wooden bench beside it is clean and looks well maintained.
There is a small book on the bench.
You pick it up and examine the cover: "Computing 101: The Binary Basics".
You decide to take the book as it fits right in your pocket. You look around to see if anyone saw you take the book, and continue on your journey.
You find another path out of the parking lot which leads to some train tracks. The tracks are covered in ivy, so you assume the tracks are safe to walk along as they haven't been used in some time.
